FAQS

  • This is completely normal and more common than you might think. This is your dog's way of saying “I am not working for my food!” To curb this, we suggest gradually reducing your dog’s food intake for a few meals to help create a healthy level of hunger. It is common for most people to unintentionally overfeed their furry friends, which can lead to reluctance during training periods. By adjusting your dog’s food portions, we aim to enhance their receptiveness to training. While it may be tempting to rely solely on high-value treats, it is important to remember that dogs, much like people, can develop preferences and eventually lose interest in these treats-which can lead to the same challenges you are encountering with the kibble.

  • We always recommend consulting with your veterinarian so that you feel the utmost comfortability moving forward with training services. However, we do disinfect between sessions with RESCUE: a vet grade disinfectant cleaner to give all of our clients peace of mind when considering their dogs health and well-being.

  • We always recommend consulting with your veterinarian so that you feel the utmost comfortability moving forward with training services. However, we can tell you that most dogs generally experience a speedy recovery (1-2 days) Additionally, we want to emphasize that our training sessions will not involve activities such as running, jumping, or any strenuous exercises for your dogs.

  • Once you fill out our New Client Form, or submit an inquiry our line of communication is initiated. It is important to note that all sessions outside of the Perfect Puppy Program will be 1:1 meaning, your dog(s) will be the only dog(s) present. Please know that we will be ready to assist you every step of the way!

  • We recommend having a baggie of your dog(s) favorite food, preferred treats, and toys to help motivate your dog(s) during their training session. We also recommend bringing the leash and/or harness you use when taking your dog(s) for outings and walks. It also never hurts to have a list of prepared questions or concerns-it can be hard to remember these when you're in the moment. *If you have a puppy who is not fully vaccinated, we recommend using a crate or carrying them into the building.

  • Travis recommends a minimum of 3 sessions to maintain consistency and to avoid overwhelming clients while promoting clarity and time for absorption. It is also important to note that practice and consistency is key and that every dog and handler will proceed at varying speeds.

  • Travis advises clients to allow 1 to 2 weeks between sessions, allowing time to practice your newly acquired skills. This also serves as extra motivation, knowing that Travis will return, fostering a sense of accountability! #accountabilibuddy

  • While Travis can assure you that his teachings will effectively improve the issues at hand, he cannot guarantee compliance or follow-through for each and every client. It is important to note that client willingness and participation are of the utmost importance when going through training with your dog. Just like with children, consistency is key!
